Two ways to study CEMS MIM at Aalto University

Global Management Master's Programme with CEMS MIM (120 ECTS)

The Master's Programme in Global Management at Aalto University School of Business, offered from academic year 2017–2018 onward, gives students a unique opportunity to simultaneously acquire two highly prestigious qualifications:

  • MSc in Economics and Business Administration granted by Aalto University School of Business; and
  • CEMS Master’s in International Management (MIM) granted by CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education.

Most of the CEMS MIM elements are fully incorporated in the Global Management master's programme (120 ECTS). In addition, students in the programme study in one of six specialisation areas: Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, Finance, Management and International Business, Marketing, OR Strategy.

CEMS MIM opportunity with other Aalto Master's Programmes (66 ECTS)

Students already enrolled in one of Aalto University’s study programmes can apply for the one-year ‘crown-model’ CEMS MIM (66 ECTS) to be completed in parallel with their regular Aalto MSc studies. To be eligible for this option, an applicant must be either a Master’s level student or in the last year of their Bachelor’s studies when applying.

Application Deadlines: 

The application period for the Master’s programme in Global Management, starting in September 2018, is December 15, 2017 - January 24, 2018.

The next application period for the Crown model CEMS MIM (internal application for students already enrolled in one of Aalto's degree programmes) will be: Nov 15 - Dec 15, 2017.

Required Documents: 

General admission criteria: Aalto University admits students to both Bachelor's and Master's degrees once a year. Please familiarise yourself with the application processes and requirements of our various fields at http://www.aalto.fi/en/studies/admissions/ 

Language of Instruction: 

English and Finnish.

Duration and Full-time Workload: 

The normative duration of the MSc programme studies is 2 years.

Tuition fees, Scholarships: 

On 15 December 2015 the Finnish Parliament has decided to impose tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens who are studying towards Bachelor's or Master's degree in languages other than Finnish or Swedish. The fees will concern degree students who start their studies in English-taught Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in August 2017 or after that. In Aalto University, the tuition fee is €12 000 per academic year for the International Business BScBA degree programme and €15 000 for degree programmes leading to a master’s degree.

Students are expected to cover all living expenses (app. EUR 800 per month) and other study related costs from their own financial resources. Aalto University does not offer any scholarships for these.

Government financial aid comprises Study Grant, Housing Supplement and a government guarantee for student loans. To be eligible for financial aid, a student needs to have been admitted to the university, be a full-time student, make satisfactory progress in his or her studies and be in need of financial support. Financial aid may be granted to Finnish citizens and also to foreign citizens, provided certain conditions are met. Students who complete their degree within the set timeframe are entitled to a student loan tax deduction.

Health insurance is mandatory for all third country nationals.Third country national means a person who is not a citizen of either one of the EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland. Students from Quebec, Canada are also exempt from this health insurance requirement.
