CEMS Club Awards and Best Practices Term 1 for 2015/2016

The CEMS Club Awards and Best Practices are two initiatives carried out by the CEMS Club Support Team of the CEMS Global Student Board. The team worked hard in promoting these two projects and incentivizing the students from all the schools to vote, engage and participate in the competition.

CEMS Club Awards and Best Practices Term 1 for 2015/2016

“What really fascinates us is the creativity and the dedication that the CEMS Clubs have in promoting the CEMS spirit across the globe by conducting a diverse set of events throughout the year. Therefore, to recognize their efforts, to provide a platform for the clubs to learn from each other and to motivate them further, we organize these awards every term. We’d like to thank all the CEMS Clubs for their continued efforts in promoting the CEMS brand” Arnav Chawla – CCS Team

The CEMS Club Awards

In order to help the CEMS Clubs develop further and organize even more awesome events for the students, the awarded Clubs win the following prizes: 1st place wins 750€, 2nd place, 500€, and 3rd place 250€. Students rated the school, which they attended during the term, in the following six categories: Socializing events to foster interaction between the students, CSR Initiatives, Alumni Relations, Corporate Partner Relations, Marketing & Communication, and Career Development.

1st place goes to CEMS Club Vienna, Vienna University of Economics and Business

Under the leadership of Alexander Wienerroither, the CEMS Club Vienna treated its cohort to a plethora of social and corporate events, keeping everyone engaged and excited throughout the term. The CEMS Club Vienna enhanced its reputation of being a great innovator in career development – be it through exposing the students to entrepreneurship with multiple startups/VCs based on student’s preferences or through rotation dinners with prestigious corporate partners. The club also came up with interesting CSR and alumni initiatives – cooking dinners for NGOs and having panel discussions with alumni in different industries, answering numerous queries of CCV students. Being in the top 3 list in back to back terms is no mean feat, especially when you outdo yourself. Brilliant job!

2nd place goes to the CEMS Club Cologne, University of Cologne

Kicking things off with a welcome weekend, the CEMS Club Cologne never let the momentum slow down when it came to promoting the CEMS spirit in the club. Creating an exciting concoction of social and corporate events, with one of most interesting events being the speed recruiting event with 5 corporate, the entire CEMS cohort experienced something special during their time in Cologne. The CEMS Club was also involved with a cross border collaboration with RSM having 50 plus students networking with each other with over the wonderful beers at the Oktoberfest. They even found an interesting way to engage corporates in an informal set up through the TEAM Escape event. Hence, CEMS Club Cologne’s efforts have borne fruit in the form of a runners up finish. Splendid work!

3rd place belongs to the CEMS Club Prague, University of Economics, Prague

The CEMS Club Prague had the best rated corporate events across all CEMS clubs in this term. Leveraging their corporate tie ups, the club was successful in integrating the CEMS cohort through social events with SABMiller among others at the beginning of the term. Making the most of a beautiful city, the club also took advantage of the festive season and the Christmas spirit, to create a very catchy video to promote its Christmas event for the CEMS students, leading to an unprecedented attendance at the Christmas party. The CEMS Club also organized many social and alumni events, ensuring that the CEMS cohort got their best exchange experience ever. Keep up the good work!

The Best Practice Awards

The Best Practice Awards were created in the interest of knowledge sharing and rewarding clubs that organize outstanding events during the term. The events are split into 6 categories, and finalists are selected based on the criteria of creativity, impact on the CEMS spirit and the simplicity of organization and execution. The Student Board Representatives then vote for the winners in each category in a 2 tiered voting system. Thank you to all the Clubs for the time and effort that they put into organising such enjoyable and creative events! Best Practice winners for the fall semester (Term 1) of 2015/2016:
