The week-long Block Seminars take place between August and October and are organised by each of the CEMS Schools.
They are academically and culturally intensive and the experience is the ideal starting point into the programme as this may be the first opportunity for incoming CEMS students to meet and exchange with their new classmates.
As long as places are available, students are encouraged to choose their preferred Block Seminar at any CEMS school.
Students’ application for locations will be received in May and will be coordinated by CEMS centrally.
Because of the considerable organisational and financial burden of a Blocked Seminar, most universities will request a financial contribution (between 100 and 250 EUR) from the students.
‘Our Block Seminar at the European Space Agency proved to be well above my expectations. I was impressed with the quality of the event and the commitment of both ESA and the CEMS Coordinators at RSM. The first insight into the programme made me realise how valuable the experience with CEMS will be. From now on; I shall be on the outlook for every opportunity the programme offers.”

Launch Event
The CEMS Launch Event is organised by each school at the start of Term 2.
During a one- or two-day event (a team building weekend, a skill seminar, a cultural event, or an excursion), students are provided the opportunity to meet and to form the class spirit.
